For some, to travel with their pet is a logistical
nightmare. Even going to the mall can be going to hell. But that can change. To
travel or transporting your pet from home to destination with a purpose can be
easy if you are prepared. In this Travel in Style Series, we’ll show some
scenarios where you will travel prepared with your pet.
Let’s start with the basic.
The Basic Travel Set
Water and Bowl – must keep our babies hydrated. You have an
option of bringing a bowl and water bottle or you can bring the doggy bottle
that has a catch tray with it.
Treats – It’s hard to feed your pet out in the mall. For one
thing, they might make a mess you might not want to clean up. Take treats with
you just to tide them over until you guys get home. Treats will also be used to
control their behavior.
Poopie Kit – Never go out without this. Practice Petiquette
and bring a poop clean up kit even when you go jogging. Chances are, your pets
will make a doodie just for kicks!
1st Aid Kit for dog – in cases of emergency,
bring the basics until you can rush to the vet: bandage, betadine, cotton, wet
wipes and tweezer.
1st Aid kit for you – You might get hurt too so
you should be prepared. A dog or cat can scratch or accidentally bite you. Have
this for your kit: a tie or strip of fabric as tourniquet, band aid, alcohol or
alcogel.
Towel – A towel can serve as a towel to wipe things or as
your pet’s blanket if they feel cold.
